Editorial and accuracy policy
How the information in this guide is researched, checked and kept up to date.

Sources
Official sources come first for factual travel rules: the operator’s own website, official booking page, official FAQ or official social media account. Other sources, such as Japanese booking sites, are only used to support or cross-check them.
How facts are shown
- Confirmed facts are shown as confirmed facts.
- If information can’t be confirmed, it is left out or clearly marked.
- Missing information is never treated as “no”. A hotel that doesn’t mention a private bath is not listed as having none.
- When official sources disagree, we don’t guess which one is right. The point is left out until it can be confirmed.
Dates and sources
Each guide page shows the date its information was last checked, and facts are recorded together with the source that confirms them.
Hours, prices, rules and facilities can change at any time. Check the official site before you travel or book.
Ratings and reviews
We don’t copy star ratings, review scores or review text from Google Maps, Tabelog or booking sites. Where useful, we link to the reviews so you can read them there.
Baths at hotels and ryokan
Bath terms are kept apart because they mean different things in Japan. A public bath, a private bath you reserve, an in-room bath, an in-room onsen and an in-room open-air bath are listed as separate features, and “onsen” is used only when the property confirms hot-spring water.
Photos
Photos are used only under a clear licence and are credited on the photo credits page. Photos from booking sites are not used.
